Sergeants

My name is V. Cruz and I am one of two Sergeants within the Explorer Program for the Westminster Police Department. As of March 4, 2015 I have been with post 810 for one year, ten days and counting. I am currently a junior at Fountain Valley High School and will graduate in June 2017. Once I have graduated I plan to attend Golden West College for two years, and then transfer to California State Fullerton where I will major in Psychology with a minor in Journalism. I initially joined the Police Explorer program in order to engage my desire to be a police officer and give myself a look into the world of law enforcement. However, the Police Explorer program is much more than what it appeared to be and allowed myself to explore multiple diverse career paths, involve myself within my immediate community, and gain skills needed to function properly within any professional work environment.

Being a Police explorer takes integrity and dedication. These two values are constantly reinforced by my department through the decisions and actions we make on a day to day basis whether it be at school or on a ride along. My goals for the future are grand but doable with the right work ethic and commitment. One day I will become Captain of the Westminster Police Department Explorers, I will get a degree in Psychology, and I will graduate from the Golden West College Police Academy where I will apply to work for my city. I have great expectations for myself and with the aid of our advisors, the knowledge I gain at my department, and the camaraderie shared with my fellow explorers I know I will surpass and exceed my hopes that will one day become realities.

My name is D. Palacios and I am with the Westminster Police Department Explorer Program as an Explorer Sergeant. I currently attend Westminster High School as a senior. I was inspired to join this Post by my brother who was also an Explorer a couple of years ago. And we both have aspirations of becoming Police Officers in the future and by joining this Explorer Program, it will help me achieve my goals. When I am old enough and qualified, I plan on attending the Police Academy at Golden West College. But as for now, I plan on serving the community and helping out my fellow Explorers reach their full potential just like how the previous rank staff did to me by instilling dedication, integrity, discipline and teamwork. With these concepts, the whole Rank Staff will make sure Post 810 will be the best it has been in recent years.
