Young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 interested in law enforcement can volunteer their time at the police department to gain work experience. Explorers volunteer part-time in the department to gain first-hand knowledge of what a career in law enforcement might be like. Explorers help with traffic control at public events, learn to take fingerprints, do all bike licensing, and may even conduct roof-top surveillance of automobiles in parking lots! Youths enrolled in high school or college may be eligible by meeting minimum grade point average requirements and passing a background check for past delinquency. A written application and an interview are required for consideration in this program. Meetings will be held every first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:00PM at Westminster PD in the Community Room.

Youths interested in participating should call POST Advisor Detective Paul Walker at 714-548-3836.
